THE SYKESVILLE ADDRESS

Fourscore and five years ago my wife and I brought forth in our
home a new idea conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition
that all RV’s are not created equal.
Now we are engaged in a great debate testing whether she or I or
any RV dealer can long endure the great pursuit to finally purchase one.
We have come to dedicate for five years a portion of our lives searching
for a unit that the dream might live on. It is fitting and proper that we
should do this.
But in a larger sense we cannot dedicate, we cannot consecrate,
we cannot fail this hallowed search. The brave men, living and maybe
dead, who struggled far above all our never-ending questions may now
rest in peace. The world will little note nor long remember what we say
today regarding the unending searches and disappointments but it can
never forget what they did not do.
It is for us, my wife and I to pursue the unfinished work which she
and I have fought so valiantly for and so nobly advanced our cause. It is
rather for us to continue the task remaining before us that from these
noble causes we increased our devotion to give our last full measure of
determination that we highly resolve that these efforts shall not have
died in vain, that this search, under God, shall have a new birth of
vigilance and that this hunt shall be by us, for us and shall not perish
from our minds.
